WEBSITE DESIGN

Revamping user experience

A local hobby shop runs an online store that, while functional, has a cluttered and inaccessible website. As a personal challenge to improve my web design skills, I set out to redesign the certain elements of the site with a cleaner, more user-friendly layout.

This is a self-initiated project created for personal development purposes. I am not affiliated with Patriot Games, and this work was not commissioned, endorsed, or requested by the company. The project is intended solely as a creative exercise, with no intention to criticize or alter the company’s existing brand or website.

The final design reflects a streamlined, user-centered approach that enhances both form and function. With improved navigation, simplified visuals, and responsive layouts, the new design offers a more engaging and accessible experience. Below are screenshots and mockups that showcase the transformation.

BLOCKING OUT THE BUILD

Design iteration & layout planning

Based on my initial audit of the website, I created low-fidelity wireframes to block out the new layout. The focus was on improving usability, establishing a clear hierarchy, and setting the foundation for a more modern and intuitive user experience. A particular strongpoint for the website was events, so I focused on integrating that into the design.
